Women Empowered for Entrepreneurial Excellence (WEEE) was formed as a community of women-owned businesses addressing the economic status of underserved women generally ignored by traditional business development organizations and banking institutions. Our original focus was providing business incubation during the start-up phase when businesses are most vulnerable. Women are twice as likely than men to launch a business, while women of color are five times as likely to do so. This diverse community of women business owners focuses on aspirations into income-generating projects and businesses with the objective to close the “net worth disparity gap” that plagues the Pittsburgh region. Research suggests that an investment in women entrepreneurs can have a significant multiplier effect that leads to not only increased revenues and more employees for business, but also to healthier, better-educated families and, ultimately, more prosperous communities.
Women Empowered for Entrepreneurial Excellence (WEEE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Pennsylvania, dedicated to fostering sustainable economic growth and success for women and minority-owned businesses and communities. Since 2009, we have provided vital support in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and well-being initiatives, helping women and minority entrepreneurs turn their talents into revenue-generating businesses. Through our innovative programs, including the award-winning Operation JumpStart and our social enterprise, WEEE Care, we address the multifaceted needs of our community, ensuring economic resilience and public health.
